Gift Idea - A Great Set Of Hearing Protection At A Great Price

Looking for a gift for someone who spend time on the range?

Electronic earmuffs protect your hearing from loud noises (like gun shots), while still allowing you to hear normal speech and lower level sounds.  They are ideal for use on the shooting range, hunting, or even working with loud power tools.  We recommend them to all of our students, and our favorite model is on sale!

Concealed Carry While Riding a Motorcycle

It is almost June, and with 7 months of wet weather behind us, many people in the great Pacific Northwest are enjoying time on their motorcycles.

Concealed Carry on a motorcycle (or an ATV or snowmobile) is legal in Oregon provided that you have an Oregon Concealed Handgun License (CHL).  For tips and tricks on this, check out Deryck Poole's excellent article on carrying on a motorcycle:  Easy Rider: Handgun Carry While Riding a Motorcycle

Greg Ellifritz: A Cautionary Tale for CCW Permit Carriers

Greg Ellifritz has written an excellent article entitled A Cautionary Tale for CCW Permit Carriers  Greg outlines a recent situation similar to those discussed in our classes - a person with a concealed firearm choosing to get involved in a situation he does not really understand.  Greg makes several excellent points and I strongly encourage anyone with a Concealed Handgun to read it.  If you have not previously considered the type of situation discussed in the article, now is the time to start.

Time Sensitive. Please Act Now - Oregon Tax Credit

From the Oregon Firearms Federation:

Please consider making a donation to OFFPAC.  As a political action committee, OFFPAC can offer you an amazing deal. You can make a donation to help Oregon Firearms Federation elect good candidates and stop the bad ones and actually reduce your Oregon tax bill at the same time!

That's because donations to PACs qualify for tax credits under Oregon's tax rules. Please note, this is not a tax "deduction", it's far better.

Concealed Handgun License Holder Homicide Rates

Please see the article below.  In short, the homicide (murder and manslaughter) conviction rate for Concealed Handgun License (CHL) holders is about 9 times lower than that of the general population.

We have been unable to find the statistics for Oregon CHL holders for the last few years, but we expect that the data would show a similar trend.
